DEBRA Spain, founded in 1993, is a non profit-making organization formed to provide support and to improve the quality of life of those, mostly children, affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa. 

Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), also known as the Butterfly Skin Condition is an

•   incurable, rare and serious genetic condition that affects the skin. 

The skin becomes as delicate as a butterfly wing. Simply touching the surface of the skin causes severe blistering and wounds that never heal. Blistering also occurs internally (in the mouth, oesophagus, intestine, airways, urinary tracts and even the inside of the eyelids) leading to further suffering and serious health problems.

DEBRA Spain works hard to provide amongst others, the following:

• Emotional and medical support to families and carers.
• Fully trained nurses who visit families in their own homes.
• Information, advice and coordination with doctors and health services to ensure patients receive the correct treatment.
• Support for research programmes into a possible cure.

Andrea's Animal Rescue and The Henrietta Foundation was founded when we saw that there were donkeys and other animals in the area that were being abused and neglected. We have rescued three donkeys and numerous dogs so far.  We still have several dogs that require homes.

We need your support.  Can you help at the car boot sales at Cañadas Del Romero on a Sunday, or maybe you can foster a dog for us, or have you anything that we could sell. 

Any help would be appreciated, what about fundraising - could you help? We survive on public donations.

 Tony’s Soccer School.  The school, which is based in Mil Palmeras on the Orihuela Costa, has teams for under and over seven year olds and is run by qualified soccer coach, Tony Pickford. Meetings are held every Sunday morning at the sand pitch in Mil Palmeras, next to the Olympia restaurant and on Thursdays a match is played at the Polideportivo in Pilar de la Horadada. There is also a Men's Soccer League - find out all the details of what's going on and where at www.tonys-soccer-school.net
